Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know therapy is right for me?

I believe that everyone can benefit from counseling. A therapist provides support, teaches problem solving skills and coping strategies to help deal with a wide range of challenges. If you want to take steps to improve your life for the better, therapy is right for you!

I am nervous about getting started; how can I prepare?

Prior to your first session you will fill out some intake paperwork. This will help me get to know you and your reasons for seeking counseling. In the initial intake session we will go over your paperwork, get to know each other, and develop a plan to help you on your therapy journey.

Being nervous is totally normal, but Gardner Counseling LLC is a safe, non-judgemental place, so get comfy and relax. You belong here.

What happens in a counseling session?

Sessions are for you. That means that you get to decide what you’d like to talk about. I will guide you as needed to help support in reaching your treatment goals.

What do you charge for a therapy session?

Counseling sessions are 45 minutes and are billed at $100 per session.
If this is a financial burden, I offer a sliding scale fee based on income. Please reach out for details to see if you qualify.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I am able to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. All insurance companies are different, you will need to check with your insurance company regarding whether or not they will accept a superbill.

How do I schedule with you?

You can contact me via email or phone to schedule an intake session.
